Put your thinking caps on as we will each be able to create our own Rotary Care Boxes. Abraxas is part of the Poway Unified School District, designed for students at risk of not graduating from a traditional high school. It offers a smaller class size, open-entry/open-exit options, alternative credit paths, and work/study opportunities to help students meet graduation. The school’s mission is to prepare young adults for graduation and to become responsible, caring, and contributing members of society. These students are from homeless situations and/or are without safety nets of support. We will be creating care boxes from a list provided, to be delivered before one of their year-end three-week breaks when they are highly vulnerable for food insecurity. We can even include notes of support and encouragement. More info to come from Elizabeth and Jon. |
