Rotary International's current marketing theme is that Rotarians are People of Action. Building on that theme, Rotary District 5340 used that theme in signs that were prominently displayed at the San Diego International Airport in January. These signs were in place to welcome the District Governor Elects as they arrived to attend the Rotary International Assembly.
At the District 5340 Governor's Dinner on June 4, recognitions were given to Rotarians who have served meritoriously as People of Action during the last year. Our own Trudy Armstrong was included as a Person of Action for her tireless energy and the successful organization of this year's District Training Assembly. During this year's Assembly, RB Sunrise Rotary had several presenters (Jim Roth, Rob Weinberg and Gordy Erickson). Trudy's leadership contributed to a very successful training assembly event. Congratulations to Trudy for this well deserved recognition.
At the Rotary District 5340 Governor's Dinner on Jun 4, RB Sunrise Rotary Club was again recognized by Rotary International by winning a Presidential Citation. To qualify for this recognition, a Rotary club has to fulfill multiple criteria. RB Sunrise accumulated enough points in all of the areas listed below. There were multiple requirements in each of the three Goals areas.
• Pay RI dues on time • Report Volunteer Hours and Service Project Contributions • Achieve Specific Goals in Support and Strengthen Club Area • Achieve Goals for Focus and Increase Humanitarian Service • Achieve Goals for Enhancing Rotary’s Public Image and Awareness
RB Sunrise Rotary Club can take pride in achieving this recognition again this Rotary year.
