On Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the regular meeting of the RB Sunrise Rotary Club. a sub regional 4 Way Speech competition was held. The contestants represented 5 different Rotary clubs in North county San Diego. Each of the speaker gave really great speeches on Rotary's 4 Way Test. The winner of this level competition was Arceli Huerta, sponsored by the Escondido Rotary Club and accompanied by her sponsoring teacher at Escondido High School, Brady Clay. (see photo at left.
The runner up was Carle Hall from Escondido Sunrise Rotary Club. She also will be moving on to a regional contest. Congratulations to these two speakers and to the fine effort of all of the speakers.

In the middle of May through the end of the first week in June, I will be on vacation in Australia and New Zealand. I will be publishing some information on the website and newsletter during that time, but I would like to have someone else in the club volunteer to send in information for the bulletin. Obviously, when I am away I can't know what is going on during meetings or what events need to be published on our club website home page. If anyone can help, please talk with me at any club meeting.
Since we are approaching the end of the month, if you have done any makeups for meetings you have missed, please send me an email with the name of the club and the date of the makeup so you can be credited with the makeup. (The treasurer also has to know so that you can receive a credit on your club bill.
Clear your calendar now so you can attend the District Council "Governor's Dinner" on June 24, 2014. It will be at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Mission Valley. It will mark the end of Carl's year as District Governor.
RB Sunrise Rotary Club needs to have a large number of members and their spouses at this event to help Carl celebrate the success of his year as District Governor. It is at this dinner that our club will surrender the banner we have had as the home club of the district governor.
