I’ve spent my entire life being interested in community service, and at 13 I saw for the first time the kinds of positive results I could personally generate. That was the year when I spearheaded a local carnival at an elementary school in Laguna Beach (my hometown), with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

I was driven to make this event a success, and was able to partner with local businesses to get food and prizes donated. I think that’s quite ironic, given my current position at work.

Ever since I handed over the check so many years ago, I’ve been driven to help in bigger and better ways. For the last 20 years I’ve volunteered for many organizations including Elder Help of San Diego, Big Brother/Big Sister, GOLDdiggers, Countinueing Education, Wednesday ETC and now the RB Sunrise Rotary.
Why Rotary? The answer is simple. Their great reputation, global outreach, and dedicated and committed volunteers all combine to create success on whatever project or campaign they undertake. Helping improve life for school kids, seniors, veterans, the indigent…whether operating through the Rotary Foundation or in our local community, I know I’m part of something MUCH bigger that is guaranteed to be successful.

This means I can regularly see the difference I’ve made working with Rotary. Side by side with my friends and professional associates, I know I’m improving the lives of countless numbers of people, and I am happy and humbled to be a part of this dynamic organization!

You’re also sure to get a great deal from Rotary, and I’d enjoy having you come visit with us next Tuesday. We meet at 7am at the Rancho Bernardo Country Club on Greens East Road, and everyone who comes to the 90-minute meeting leaves richer for the experience.

You can meet Rosemarie and dozens of other North County professionals every Tuesday morning. Visit www.rbsunrise.org for additional information.
