Story Update

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Martin Shep.  Martin was a longtime member of the RB Sunrise Rotary.  He was good friend to us all. Coming from an engineering background, Martin was known for his creative ideas. He was noted for his gentle good humor and his genuine caring attitude towards those around him. He truly epitomized Rotary’s philosophy of Service Above Self and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 25th, at El Camino Memorial Park in Sorrento Valley. For the funeral service at 3:00 pm, among the family and friends were 20 members with 3 spouses from RB Sunrise Rotary Club. During the service, mourners reflected on the many accomplishments of this quiet man.  He had a fulfilling career as an engineer with multiple patents for devices that impacted all our lives. Even in retirement, he continued to use his considerable skills as a volunteer to assist others to solve problems with his engineering expertise.  A reception was held afterwards at Milton’s Deli in Del Mar.
